6 months

Today Julian went to the pediatrician for his 6-month checkup, a few weeks late due to scheduling issues. He was pronounced by the doctor to be in perfect health! He weighs 15 lbs. 14 oz., and is 25 3/4 inches long.

His current skills include: clapping his hands, holding things in both hands and smacking them together, passing objects back and forth from one hand to the other, sitting up unsupported, standing up supported, and reaching for toys that he's dropped. He still says "aaah" a lot, but he also says things like "dadadada" and "bopbopbop." He's started eating rice cereal, oatmeal, and various pureed fruits and vegetables, though he's sometimes skeptical about the whole idea (particularly in the evening). Favorite toys are plastic cups, mama's hair, and anything within reach, and tonight we gave him a wooden spoon and he thought it was the best thing ever. He's started scooting around a little bit and can stretch to grab things that would previously have been out of reach, and he's starting to work on pushing himself up off the floor, so while it'll be a while before he actually crawls we can see it coming. He's becoming more adorable and entertaining every day!
